Opening of the 2023 Virtual Edition

10.03.2023

On 02.03.23 the Vaduz Light Festival 2023 | Virtual Edition was ceremoniously opened in the Galerie am Lindenplatz. This year's Vaduz Light Festival represents a milestone in the field of light festivals. Austrian digital artist Stefan Kainbacher transformed the festival into the world's first virtual Light Festival and presented four works in this context.

After the welcome and introduction by the initiator and director of the Vaduz Light Festival, Romy Abbrederis, the festival was opened virtually. In addition to the visitors present in the gallery, some interested people also participated virtually. This hybrid event of physically present as well as only virtually present visitors, who could participate by entering with the help of their end devices, also corresponded to the basic idea of this virtual edition of the Vaduz Light Festival and allowed a first insight as well as a first curatorial tour through the exhibition Elements.

After the presentation, visitors and media representatives were invited to participate directly with and in the virtual edition of the Vaduz Light Festival.
Two VR glasses provided by the organizers allowed the authentic and immersive experience of the works presented by Stefan Kainbacher, which were received with great enthusiasm.

On behalf of the Vaduz Light Festival, the organizers Romy Abbrederis and Leon Boch would like to express their sincere thanks to all participants of the opening event. Special thanks go to the sponsors and supporters of the project.
We would also like to thank Stefan Kainbacher and his team from NEON GOLDEN for the technical realization and the unique artistic presentation.
